Robert (Bob) Edward Hazen July 4, 1950 – July 3, 2014 Bob left this earth to join our Lord in heaven after a short illness, his wife and family at his side. Bob was born in Long Beach, California, first child to Mary and Ed Hazen. Bob spent his younger years in Redondo Beach and went to school at Bishop Montgomery then graduated from Redondo High school. Bob joined the Army in 1968 and was deployed to Viet Nam for one year as an Air Traffic Controller. Upon returning to the states, he was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia where he met his wife Elaine. After leaving the military, Bob was employed by Palos Verdes School District as a Ground-man during the day while he went to El Camino College at night to obtain his degree as a Respiratory Therapist. In 1980, Bob and the family moved to San Bernardino, California. He worked at Riverside General and at San Antonio Hospitals as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. During those years, Bob’s passion was working with Neonates and with the Geriatric patients. He retired after 24 years. Bob loved his family and knowing that they were happy was always his first priority. His joy was walking his dogs, camping, fishing, and he loved talking with his family, friends and neighbors. Bob was an active member of the American Legion Post 777 in San Bernardino. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, sons Aaron (Susie), Scott (Sara), and two grandchildren Brayden and Brooke; Sister, Lorraine Hornik of Lakewood; Brother Jim of Gardena and Bill of Helendale, Aunts Ruthie Cappo of West Jordan, Utah and Velma Hazen of Laguna Woods. Services will be held at Mark B. Shaw Mortuary 1525 N. Waterman Ave. San Bernardino, California.
